DeMarco Murray To Retire
July 13th | 2018
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting former Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Roughly one week following Schefter’s report that he was in talks with multiple teams, Murray shocked the NFL world with his decision to walk away as many believed that he would have opened the 2018 season as an RB2 at worst. And while he was coming off of his worst statistical season since an injury-stricken 2012 campaign with the Cowboys, he still managed to finish 2017 as the RB23 in standard scoring formats. He totaled 925 yards and seven touchdowns on 223 touches (39 receptions), averaging 4.14 yards per touch. While he may be retired, for now, he is young enough to change his mind, especially if the right situation opens up at some point during the course of the season. Murray, who recently turned 30-years-old in February, would have been entering his eighth NFL season if he decided against retirement.
