Chester Rogers Ready For A Breakout Season?

The Colts offense was lifeless without Luck under center last season. Chester Rogers was able to provide some spark in Week 10 however when he hung a 6/104/1 line on the Steelers. While all the attention on the Colts offense early on has been focused on both Andrew Luck and how the backfield will shake out, a key battle has been hiding in pure daylight. Roger’s will be fighting former Redskin, Ryan Grant, for the WR2 role behind T.Y. Hilton on the Colts depth chart.

Grant underachieved for the most part over the last four years with the Redskins. Rogers has a slight advantage having played with Luck and built chemistry in 2016. Rogers also ranked third best amongst wide receivers last season in target separation, according to PlayerProfiler.com.

Most recently, Donte Moncrief showed us that the number two wideout role on an Andrew Luck led Colts offense can be a lucrative one. Moncrief was able to rack up 18 touchdowns over the last four years despite missing time with injury.

Rogers is going undrafted completely in a majority of early fantasy drafts. If Rogers indeed wins the WR2 role for the Colts, he could be a name to target towards the tail end of drafts this season.
