Draft Kings NFL Picks Week 15

Draft Kings NFL Picks Week 15

There are only a couple of weeks left in the NFL season which means that your season long leagues are wrapping up. Daily fantasy is ongoing though and there is no better than week than week 15 to jump on the DFS train. Last week’s selections were headlined by Philip Rivers who returns to the column yet again. This week is loaded with daily fantasy implications such as, where will the Eagles go from here and what impact does Aaron Rodger’s return bring. My week 15 selections will tell that story and will bring you to the daily fantasy winners circle.

Quarterbacks

Philip Rivers ($7,200): The Chargers signal-caller has been on a roll and is really having one of the best stretches of his career. Last would see the Chargers jump out early with Rivers throwing for over 250 yards in the first half. He has scored 20 or more fantasy points in each of his last three games and has averaged over 360 passing yards in the process. While his stat line from week 3 may suggest otherwise, Rivers has a good matchup in week 15 against the Chiefs. Rivers will look to avenge that week 3 contest which stands as Rivers lone game in 2017 without a touchdown pass. Luckily for Rivers, that early meeting with the Chiefs is not a direct representation of the Chiefs defense. At this point, the Chiefs are allowing the sixth-most points to the position. Four of his eight games this season with 250 or more passing yards have come in his last four games and I see no reason as to why Rivers will slow down here in week 15.

Blake Bortles ($5,700): The fantasy community has had nothing but tough love for Blake Bortles for a while now. In the late part of 2017 though, the fantasy winds are beginning to change as folks are slowly buying back into Bortles. One thing that aided that change in heart is the Jaguars schedule which includes welcoming in the Houston Texans this weekend. This is a Texans defense that is tied for the most points allowed to the position and just allowed 334 passing yards to Jimmy Garoppolo. For Bortles himself, he is finally beginning to gel with pass catchers like Keelan Cole and DeDe Westbrook and has thrown for 577 yards and four touchdowns in his last two games. The other thing that may work towards more passing attempts from Bortles is the fact that Leonard Fournette is continuing to deal with a nagging quad and currently sits as questionable. While the Eli Manning rumors will continue to get louder, Bortles in the here and now is a worthwhile option.

Running Backs

LeSean McCoy ($8,400): As you construct your lineups for this weekend, you’re going to bet large somewhere. This week I’m suggesting that you bet large on Bills running back LeSean McCoy. In what could prove to be a ground and pound game, this week the Dolphins will begrudgingly leave sunny Florida for a blistering cold Buffalo. For McCoy last week, the snowy weather proved to work in his favor as the Bills would lean on him with a career-high 32 carries. McCoy would respond with 156 yards and a touchdown. As usual, and expected given his workload, McCoy is currently nursing a nagging knee but is still expected to play this week. This is a Dolphins defense that is allowing the seventh most points to the position and is a slam dunk matchup worth the price tag.

Jay Ajayi ($5,000): For true NFL fans, it was heartbreaking to see Carson Wentz’s season end in the fashion that it did. Never the less though the wheels need to keep moving on the 2017 season and the Eagles have a week 15 matchup against the Giants. If you’re looking for a player on the Eagles that could benefit from the Wentz injury, that man may be may Jay Ajayi. Last week itself was also a good sign towards Ajayi getting more work as would be given 15 carries which. That number is significant as it sits as the most he’s seen as a member of the Eagles. He would take those carries and would run for 78 yards. The potential for a larger workload should also come in handy against a Giants team that is currently allowing the third most points to the position. This is a Giants defense desperately looking to turn the page on this season as they have allowed a hundred yards rushing or more in all but one game. If Ajayi was looking for a game to finally cash in, he has it in week 15.

Wide Receivers

Jordy Nelson ($6,300): Life without Aaron Rodgers has truly been a humbling experience for Jordy Nelson owners. Prior to the Rodgers injury, Nelson would score six touchdowns in five games. Since that time, Nelson has failed to record to a touchdown and has had only one game with more than 50 yards receiving. While it may be too late for season-long fantasy players, better days appear to be on the horizon for DFS players as Rodgers has been cleared to return. It should go without saying that given Rodgers return, Nelson should be used in every format imaginable. In the last 21 regular season games that Nelson and Rodgers have played together in, the Packers wideout has failed to score only six games. As for their opponent, the Panthers are currently allowing the tenth most points to the wide receiver position. Rodgers and the offense will come out swinging this week and you may as well cash in on it.

DeDe Westbrook ($5,100): This Jaguars rookie pass catcher may have only played in four games this season but he is already an intricate part of the offense. While he may not have gotten the 200 yards receiving he had anticipated in his debut, with each passing game he’s played in, his receiving yards have gone up. This, of course, has led to an increase in Draft Kings scoring including his 19.1 points scored in week 14. As he continues to get more and more comfortable with his quarterback his production will grow and this week the Jaguars will take on a Texans defense that is allowing the eighth most points to the position. While Keelan Cole has been coming off as the boom or bust pass catcher in this offense, Westbrook is consistently being targeted and is still a bargain at just $5,100. These deals won’t last forever folks.

Tight End

Ben Watson ($3,800): Last week wasn’t a great week for the veteran tight end. While his one target is what most will notice on the stat line, the matchup itself wasn’t a favorable. From week 14 to 15, the Ravens will go from a Steelers defense that is allowing the fewest points to the position to a Browns defense that is allowing the fourth most. His eight receptions and 91 yards against the Browns in week 2 are currently season highs. This week, I’m predicting that Watson will reach pay dirt and score a touchdown. While the handful of the higher priced tight ends this week are dealing with bad matchups and quarterback issues, Watson represents arguably the best value at the position this week.

Defense

Saints ($3,900): This week the Saints will welcome in a New York Jets team that will be without Josh McCown who is now on injured reserve. On deck to play quarterback for the Jets is Bryce Petty and you can expect the Saints to take full advantage of that. Last year, in 133 attempts, Petty would throw for seven interceptions and just three touchdowns. This could be a game with some turnovers and could allow the Saints to have their first 10 point game since week 9 against the Buccaneers.
