Ryan Madson filling in as Nationals closer

Ryan Madson will be the first to get save chances for the Nationals following the loss of Kelvin Herrera.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez also indicated on Wednesday that Koda Glover would also be an option to close out games should Madson’s workload become too much.

Madon is 2-4 on the season but does have 4 saves thus far. His 4.32 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 39/15 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings of work are well off his career norms so Martinez and the Nationals may be hoping he sees a bit of a correction over the next two months.
