- J’Mon Moore has been Running with the First Team Offense
Date: July 27th | 2018
Packers Beat writer Ryan Wood reports rookie wide receiver J’Mon Moore has already been working with the first-team offense at training camp.
The Packers got younger with their WR group this offseason by releasing veteran Jordy Nelson and selecting three receivers at the NFL Draft. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown were picked in the fifth and seventh rounds, and J’Mon Moore was selected in the 4th.
“J’Mon, the big thing right now is just getting him to learn everything we’re trying to do so he can use his ability, which you see on the field,” Packers wide receivers coach David Raih said. “He’s definitely a guy that grabs grass. He’s got stride length, he’s high cut, and he naturally just covers ground. The main thing is knowing what he’s doing so he can use those abilities. But yeah, I’m excited about him.”
These aren’t high investment draft picks for the Packers, but the team is hoping that someone can emerge.
Fantasy Spin
It’s very early into training camp, so knee-jerk reactions may force some Dynasty owners to jump to conclusions, however, there is an opportunity for a player to emerge here. The Packers will have one of the leagues more explosive passing games with Aaron Rodgers healthy this season. This is definitely a camp-battle to keep an eye on.

- Randall Cobb Sheds Walking Boot, Unsure of Restrictions to Open Camp
Date: July 24th | 2018
WBAY’s Sports Director, Chris Roth, caught up with Randall Cobb at a recent kids football camp in Green Bay where Cobb was seen running drills without a walking boot.
Cobb was first spotted less than a month ago in a boot while he was dealing with an apparent ankle injury. While Cobb told Roth that he will be involved in training camp come July 26th, Cobb didn’t sound completely free and clear of issues. When Roth asked Cobb if there will be any restrictions on him, Cobb responded, “I don’t know I haven’t talked to the medical staff we’ll see what they have to say.”
Fantasy Spin:
Cobb is a sleeper favorite to have a bounce-back season with Jordy Nelson now in Oakland. Coming into camp with a bum ankle isn’t exactly the best first impression to instill faith in fantasy owners. Cobb hasn’t played a full 16 game season since 2015. Any player with a solid role on the Packers offense is bound to offer decent value in fantasy however as long as Aaron Rodgers is on the field. Cobb’s health will be something to watch closely over the preseason. If Cobb is good to go he could wind up offering serious value as the number two option in the passing game behind Davante Adams.
