Reds announce seven-year deal with Eugenio Suarez
The Reds and third baseman Eugenio Suarez have come to terms on a seven-year deal.
Suarez, 26, who has been one of the more underated players in baseball was not eligible for free agency until 2021 so such a move buys out his arbitration years as well as some free agent years.
In 156 games last season Suarez hit .260/.367/.461 with 26 home runs and 82 RBI. Suarez was moved to third base when the Reds traded Todd Frazier to the White Sox.

With Suarez locked up, it now appears that Nick Senzel’s path to the majors will be as a middle infielder.
Senzel, 22, owns a .315/.393/.514 slash line over two minor league seasons. He spent part of 2017 at Double-A Pensacola but appears ticketed for the big league club sometime in 2018.
