Rangers: Tim Lincecum hoping to be ready by start of May
Signed to a minor league contract by the Rangers, veteran pitcher Tim Lincecum did not appear in any Spring Training games.
Lincecum dealt with blister issues which prevented him for appearing in any Cactus League games for the club. Rangers writer T.R. Sullivan said that the right hander believes the beginning of May is a realistic goal of when he should be ready to pitch.

After sitting out the entire 2017 season, Lincecum bulked up this offseason and signed a one-year deal worth $1 million with the Rangers in hopes of resuming his big league career.
Now 33, Lincecum is looking to do better than the 2-6 record and 9.16 ERA he posted during his final nine starts that took place with the Angels in 2016.
A two-time Cy Young winner, Lincecum owns a career record of 110-89 to go with a 3.75 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP.
The Rangers rotation features a lot of big names but also a ton of questionmarks with the likes of Cole Hamels, Doug Fister, Matt Moore and Mike Minor. Bartolo Colon is expected to join the club when they need a fifth starter.
