Oklahoma softball star Paige Parker pitches so hard she blew away Royals players
What an arm!
Good luck catching Paige Parker’s pitches — not even the professionals could do it.
Parker, a star softball player at the University of Oklahoma, got the chance to throw out the first pitch at a Kansas City Royals game last week — two weeks after the Sooners won the national championship for the second year is a row. But before she even made it to the mound, she was blowing away Royals players with her incredible arm:
Safe to say the @Royals were impressed when @paigeparker008 warmed up last week before her first pitch.

Now that’s some heat.
And apparently the Royals players, like backup catcher Drew Butera, thought so, too.
It was awesome to experience that. She is the best for a reason!!!! Rise ball is no joke!!!! https://t.co/6bsTaIgt85

“Some of their reactions were really cool, so that's something I won't ever forget,” Parker said in a story on the University of Oklahoma’s website. “They were pretty shocked about how much my ball moved. I think they were especially fascinated by my rise ball because they never see that.”
Before the game, Parker would throw a strike for her ceremonial first pitch, but that wasn’t the only cool part of her day — she also got to meet more Royals players and coaches.

Since Parker grew up just 15 minutes from the Royals’ stadium, that was undoubtedly cool.
“I think it's like a childhood dream come true to get to meet the players. I don't think I could've ever thought of any of that in my wildest dreams to get to interact with them that much,” she said.
The Sooners ace is making a name for herself as one of college softball’s best pitchers — this past season, she pitched to a record of 26-5 with a 1.43 ERA.
So it’s no wonder the Royals were impressed — Parker can definitely throw.
