Sidney Crosby leaves Capitals vs. Penguins Game 3 after cross-check to head

The Penguins forward has a history of concussion issues.

The Penguins may have just lost their best player for a significant amount of time. Early in the first period between the Penguins and Capitals, Sidney Crosby was taken down by a cross-check from Matt Niskanen.

Crosby was driving to the net when the stick of Alex Ovechkin caught him in the helmet, causing the Penguins captain to stumble. Niskanen then caught Crosby again as the forward was falling to the ice.

Crosby was down on the ice for a few moments before being escorted off the ice with trainers. The Penguins captain has a history of concussion issues. Also of concern could be how his left leg buckled under him.

Niskanen was given five minutes for cross checking and a game misconduct.
