7 Players to Consider in FanDuel Cash Games Week 2
Fanduel NFL Strategy: Week 2
I’ m back for week 2 baby and I am even happier to have you back with me. Week 1 was awesome. I couldn’t get enough of the NFL and found myself still wanting more after Monday night. The main slate in week 1 saw some HUGE week 1 performance, most notably, was Tyreek “The Freak” Hill. The man was unstoppable and I am hoping you had him in all of your lineups. Unfortunately, he did not make my cash game consideration article last week, but the star performer at running back did. That’s right! Alvin Kamara was a stud in week 1 and I was all over him. Do you hear that? That sound is me tooting my own horn. Toot Toot.
If you decided to roll with any of my week 1 options, I am hoping it was Kamara, Phillip Rivers, or Emmanuel Sanders. You also wouldn’t have been terribly disappointed in my selection of Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen. If you jumped on the bandwagon of Alex Collins or Austin Seferian-Jenkins then apologize and I promise to try harder.
Now that week 2 is upon us, we must put week 1 behind us and get ready to kick some butt in Week 2 FanDuel cash games. There are some major values and great matchups this week that we will look to exploit and turn those values into money in your pocket. Stick with me and I will take you to the promise land. Here are my 7 players to consider in FanDuel cash games in week 2.
Recommend Tools:
- Daily Roto – Daily Roto has Redzone data, snap counts, targets, and an awesome Lineup optimizer
- The Quant Edge – TQE has a WR/CB matchup tool that’ll be perfect for WR Start/Sits.
- MyBookie – Sports betting lines like over/under are very underrated in daily fantasy sports.
Quarterback
- Alex Smith
$7,100 vs Colts
Week 2 sees the Redskins taking on the Colts. The Colts are a team that boasts Kenny Moore II and Nate Hairston as their starting cornerbacks. Moore allowed a 91.7 QB rating in 2017 and Hairston was the slot corner last year and allowed a 91.2 QB rating. In case you are unaware, that is not good. The Colts were a team to pass on in 2017 and that has not changed in 2018. In week 1, Andy Dalton threw just 28 passes and accumulated 243 yards and 2 TDs. The Bengals have a better running game than what I expect from Adrian Peterson so I expect Smith to have a solid game for his price.
- Case Keenum
$6,700 vs Raiders
The Raiders are coming off of a game where they allowed 233 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 18 completions. With Khalil Mack gone from Oakland, the pass rush is not a major concern anymore. Keenum is coming off of a game where he threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns. He has two dynamic receivers to throw to plus the emergence of Phillip Lindsay as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Keenum is one of the cheapest options at the position and offers a ton of upside.
Runningback
- James Conner
$7,000 vs Chiefs
The Chiefs defense may be one to exploit throughout the entire 2018 season. Melvin Gordon just annihilated the Chiefs defense to the tune of 166 yards on 24 touches and Austin Ekeler ripped off 126 yards on just 10 touches. According to DailyRoto, the Chiefs surrendered 37.3 points to running backs in week 1. Conner is coming off of his first career start where he was rather impressive as well. He totaled 36 touches, 192 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Conner was the only back with a touch in week 1 and is expected to be the every-down back in week 2. Assuming a similar workload to week 1, Conner is a very good value.
- Dalvin Cook
$6,500 at Packers
Dalvin Cook averaged just 2.5 yards per carry in week 1. That isn’t a stat that inspires confidence in a player. What should inspire confidence is that he caught 6 passes. Cook totaled 22 touches and was utilized as a workhorse back. He gets an easier matchup in week 2 against the Packers. The Bears ran for 107 yards on 20 carries against the Packers defense in week 1. The Bears backs also caught 8 passes out of the backfield. Cook should get the touches both on the ground in through the air to blow away his price tag this week.
Wide Receiver
- Jarvis Landry
$6,700 at Saints
The Saints are fresh off their upset loss where they got burned by Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bucs. The Saints surrendered 60.1 points to receivers in week 1. Jarvis Landry is the Browns number 1 option in the passing game. He received 15 targets while the next closest was David Njoku with 7. Landry is clearly the focal point of the passing game. He also excels in the slot which is the softest part of the Saints secondary with P.J. Williams as the primary slot corner. In a game that could be high scoring, Landry offers upside at his price point.
- Keenan Allen
$8,000 at Bills
The Bills best cover corner is Tre’Davious White. He is primarily a left corner. This is the best news possible for Keenan Allen, as he lines up on the right side just 25% of the time. Allen runs from the slot or the left receiver 75% of the time which means he will see plenty of Phillip Gaines or Taron Johnson. Gaines was part of the terrible Chiefs secondary in 2017, Johnson is a rookie. When targeted in 2017 Gaines allowed a QB rating of 104.2. I want Allen, a premier receiver in the NFL, against Gaines or a rookie every single day.
Tight End
- Ricky Seals-Jones
$5,200 at Rams
I am going cheap at tight end again in week 2. I am looking for value at this position with players that have good matchups. Seals-Jones is that guy this week. Jared Cook just finished torching this Rams defense in week 1. The Rams have Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters on the outside. The way to attack this defense through the air is the middle of the field with the tight end. The Rams defense also struggled against tight ends in 2017 finishing 11th worst. Seals-Jones drew 6 targets in week 1 and I expect to see that number increase in week 2.
There you have it, my 7 players to consider in FanDuel cash games in week 2. Good luck and win some money.
