Random NFL Betting Odds: Cowboys WR1 and More
If you’ve ever read any of my sports betting articles throughout the offseason, you know I like to find interesting NFL betting odds and showcase them in an outside the box perspective for fantasy football fans. I find that the fantasy football community has a tendency to get overly hyped about a player or situation, where cooler heads prevail in the betting community. Sportsbooks are insanely accurate at projecting game outcomes with the favorite usually only a few points off the actual outcome. Using sports betting odds can be helpful those looking to figure out who to start in their fantasy leagues in-season week to week and offer a fresh take on the fantasy football landscape as a whole.
In this article, I have found the most random NFL odds yet, with betting lines from everything from who’s going to be the Dallas Cowboys starting WR1 to which coach is getting fired first. Let’s get to it!
Quick Advice: The NFL regular season is less than 30 days away, and fans are doing everything they can to get ready. August is a busy month for fantasy football drafts, but it can also be a great month for sportsbooks or daily fantasy site promotions. With sports betting now legal (in some states) I would suggest you take the time to research where to read reviews of bookmakers in terms of getting the best odds and bonuses this summer.
Who Will Be The Cowboys WR1 Week One?
- Allen Hurns +125
- Tavon Austin +200
- Cole Beasley +300
- Deonte Thompson +400
- Michael Gallup +600
- Terrance Williams +600
The other day someone was trying to trade Terrance Williams in one of my dynasty leagues. On our My Fantasy league message board, his sales pitch said “Trade for Williams who is the Cowboys WR1!” I don’t know what Depth Chart he was looking at, but it clearly needed to be updated.
Gridiron Experts has Williams as the team’s WR5 on our NFL Depth Chart Page and the betting community see’s things the same way, with 6 to 1 odds that Williams will be the WR1 come the start of the season.
Despite Michael Gallup having the same odds as Williams, many believe the Cowboys newest Rookie WR has a real chance of moving up the pecking order this month after being the talk of training camp. A couple great preseason performances could push Gallup up the ladder.
Right now, if I had to predict the final depth chart order, I would go Hurns, Gallup, Beasley, Austin, Williams, then Thompson.

Who Will Be The Jets Starting QB Week 1?
- Sam Darnold +125
- Teddy Bridgewater +175
- Josh McCown +175
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported recently the Jets No. 3 overall pick “has a very fair shot” to be the Week 1 starter.
They can try to make it sound like their undecided, but as far as what I’ve heard, it sounds like he’s nearly a lock to be the starter week one. The Jets don’t seem like the type of team that want to redshirt Darnold, and I feel like the Coaching staff need to start to show improvements if they want to keep their job. At +125, I think Darnold is a good bet.
Jets fans are hungry for change and are excited to see what Darnold can do. Most will understand that Darnold’s first year will have ups and downs, but the experience from getting the start will be extremely valuable.
The Jets take on the Falcons tonight. A strong performance could chance these betting odds after a good game.
First Head Coach To be First During 2018 Season?
- Hue Jackson (Browns) +300
- Vance Joseph (Broncos) +500
- Adam Gase (Dolphins) +750
- Marvin Lewis (Bengals) +1100
- Todd Bowles (Jets) +1300
- Jay Gruden (Redskins) +1300
- John Harbaugh (Ravens) +1800
- Jason Garret (Cowboys) +1800
- Pete Carroll (Seahawks) +2100
- Bill O’Brien (Texans) +2200
- Ron Rivera (Panthers) +2500
- No Coach Fired +300
- Field +600
There are a lot of names on this list that I feel are there just to temp you with long-shot odds. Realistically, I would say the list should end after Jay Gruden. The first six names on the list are in the hot seat in my opinion, probably none more than Hue Jackson. He’s won just one game in the last two years and somehow dodged the bullet when Browns owner Jimmy Haslam had enough of the Sashi Brown experiment this offseason. That being said, the Browns are on the right track and seem to be making every possible effort to change the culture in the locker room. Jarvis Landry’s speech to the Browns WR’s was motivating.
My Pick: Adam Gase. I haven’t been a fan of what the team has been doing in the offseason. Gase might become the scapegoat if the hammer is dropped.
If anyone out there plays at MyBookie, I have a huge tip for you. Under NFL Specials they have betting odds for who will start, and they don't know about #Cardinals A.Q Shipley is out for the season.

Betting Tip of The Day
Normally I don’t add banners to sportsbooks or drop a link to them directly, but I did find an interesting bet in the “NFL Specials” category, which is where I found all of these odds.
MyBookie.ag. has a line offered for “Who will be the starting Center for the Arizona Cardinals week One?” …but A.Q Shipley, one of the two options is on IR. Mason Cole is now the starter. There is a small chance that the team still signs someone for week one, but Cole was drafted in the third round and would have a huge advantage over them. I think it’s safe to say he’ll start week one and this is a sneaky win.
Good luck, Thanks for reading.
