Dolphins leave WR Mike Wallace off 2015 season ticket promo video
The Miami Dolphins released a 2015 season-ticket promotional video on Tuesday. While highlights from most of the team’s key contributors – quarterback Ryan Tannehill, cornerback Brent Grimes, defensive end Cam Wake, running back Lamar Miller – were included on the video that hyped the excitement for the coming season, highlights of wide receiver Mike Wallace is nowhere to be found, the Miami Sun Sentinel reports.
Wallace’s omission could be a sign that the Dolphins are seriously considering parting ways with the disgruntled receiver.
Wallace, who will count $12.1 million against the salary cap next season, was benched for the second half of the season finale against the New York Jets after an alleged disagreement with team personnel at halftime. He was reportedly frustrated and angered by the way he was used in the game, and all season.
The Dolphins haven’t openly discussed Wallace’s status with the media so far this offseason. According to the Sun, general manager Dennis Hickey met with Wallace earlier this month.
During his press conference at last week’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Hickey sidestepped questions about Wallace, specifically one about whether he understood Wallace’s frustration with the offense.
“For all of us, as the season unfolded, late in the year, we were all frustrated about how the season ended,” Hickey said. “That’s what we’re focused on now, addressing, confronting the reality of where we’re at, and how do we get to where we want to be?
“That’s what we spent the last five or six weeks looking at hard, and talking through and working together in a collaborative fashion, to work through that. The goal is to be better.”
